e-Cigarette consumer advocacy group CASAA has made a major announcement on its website. The organization has started a new fund specifically for funding scientific research around harm reduction. The new fund is completely separate from its general fund. In addition, the first research initiative has been announced which will be a study of existing chemical analyses.
Donations to the CASAA Research Fund will be spent 100% in support of research projects. (So please, CASAA supporters, do not forget about the CASAA general fund if you choose to donate the research fund.) Unlike most other research charities, none of it will be spent on overhead, fundraising, or to pay the organizers. We are committed to keeping the research efficient, lean, and important, and to avoid bloated projects that drain the limited funds available to support consumer interests in THR.
This should be an interesting development, if CASAA is able to raise sufficient funding. Perhaps for all those prohibitionists that claim there is no science, we can blind them with science! Apologies to Mr. Dolby.
