The FDA has for quite a while been making noises about regulating other tobacco products, including e-cigarettes. Deadlines have come and gone, and so far here we sit without any firm regulations. Turns out, there was more information about the FDA's plans released in December. CSPNet and Troutman Sanders both reported the administration's regulatory agenda published on December 21st had a little Christmas present from the FDA. The agency intends to have draft regulations for public comment no later than April.

We know the FDA has already held a hearing where a lot of proponents of electronic cigarettes and harm reduction in general spoke. In fact, you still have a few more days to submit your written comments. Be sure to do that, here's the CASAA Call to Action for details. Otherwise, hold on to your hats and glasses, folks it's going to be a wild ride this year.
